In this episode of the American Civil War & UK History podcast, host Daz was joined by historian Dr. Nathan Provost to discuss the Battle of Cold Harbor.

Dr. Provost chose to focus his dissertation on the Battle of Cold Harbor, dedicating a significant amount of time to researching this battle and its associated data.

The Battle of Cold Harbor was fought during the American Civil War near Mechanicsville, Virginia, from May 31 to June 12, 1864, with the most intense fighting occurring on June 3. It was one of the final battles of Union Lt. Gen. Ulysses S. Grant's Overland Campaign is remembered as one of the most lopsided battles in American history. Thousands of Union soldiers were killed or wounded during the frontal assault on June 3 against the fortified positions of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee's army, which further contributed to the perception of Grant's apparent disregard for high casualties.
